Shinji Murakami
Early 3D

Shinji Murakami’s signature style of sculptural 3D – 8Bit objects steamed from these early sculptures. Murakami has long been interested in pictograms from early video games. Fascinated by the pixelated bumpiness of these first graphics, he has let that become the basis of his works, translating that aesthetic into the literal building blocks of his sculptures.
