As a commission for a private collection, Musekiwa was asked to bring a creature onto a small island near Troy, New York. After visiting the place, breathing its air, and collecting the materials the small land mass had to offer, Musekiwa returned to his studio in New York City to create Wisdom Giver. “He was going to watch over a forest,” Musekiwa says, “he had to be more animalistic.”
Upon completion and pre-installation, the sculpture makes it to the outside world
